Timber Hall Wedding | Rose & Dylan

Rose and Dylan buried a whiskey bottle a few months before their ceremony to ward off the rain. I had to look this up for myself, but apparently southern folklore says that if a bottle is placed in the ground at the site where the couple will be wed all will stay dry. And it worked! There was a beautifully cloudy sky but as soon as everyone began arriving not a drop of rain was in sight. The sun came out just as Dylan was saying his vows.

I loved all the personal touches of this day. The ceremony site was strung with photos, they wrote their own vows, and Rose wore a pair of sneakers. Siblings and friends read poems and told stories about the couple during the ceremony, which was made even more significant considering they've known each other since their middle school years. Rose's brother is in the USMC and surprised her by showing up unexpectedly the day before.

The best advice I could give for planning a wedding is to keep it your own. It makes all the difference :)
