Cold Craggy Engagement Session | Mandi and Griffin

Couple embraces during a winter photo shoot on top of Craggy Pinnacle.

I met up with Mandi and Griffin on a gorgeous fall day on the parkway. Driving up the weather was breezy and warm, but as I climbed in elevation it quickly became apparent that the peaks were going to be much colder. October is an unpredictable time of year, and this go around the mountain were covered in a thin layer of ice.

They were up for an adventure though, so made our way to the top and numbly explored the gorgeous formations at the peak before high tailing it back to the car to thaw out. We drove down the road a little way, and just like that were back in autumn with trees covered in orange and yellow leaves.

It's hard to tell what the weather is going to be like at thousands of feet high in elevation. I try to let people know ahead of time what to expect, but the best advice I can give is to go with the flow and be ready for anything. The best images are the ones that genuinely show your love for each other. That beautiful scenery is just a bonus :)
